Owning the Scars and the Stars of my Journey

Leading and driving transformation at previously Afrikaans universities, from Free State - Stellenbosch

This book was ready to be written. In fact, it begged me to release it out of my system. While I was busy conceptualising the other book I wanted to write – my complete Biography – I could feel that there was something blocking it. It was this Book, “Owning the Scars and the Stars of my Journey”, forcing itself out and I realised that there was nothing that was going to stop it. When I started writing, it just flowed out. Day after day, I wrote non-stop for about a month and the first draft of about 200 pages was out. Only then, could I take a break; my head felt lighter and my heart felt free and more at peace.

At this point, I knew that I needed to share my journey, my experiences and lessons, with the world. What a beautiful journey of writing it was, I am forever thankful for documenting this part of my life. It was a journey of healing and taking my power back!
